About the Position:

We are looking for a Drilling Engineer to join our Queensland gas project team. This role is critical in planning and executing drilling operations, ensuring they are carried out safely, efficiently, and with minimal environmental impact. The successful candidate will bring a wealth of experience in drilling engineering, a strong commitment to safety and sustainability, and the ability to innovate in the face of technical challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement drilling plans and programs, including well design, drilling equipment selection, and drilling fluid management.
• Collaborate with geoscientists, reservoir engineers, and other specialists to ensure drilling operations align with exploration and production goals.
• Oversee drilling operations, monitoring performance and making real-time decisions to address operational challenges.
• Implement best practices in drilling safety and environmental protection, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Analyse drilling data to improve efficiency and effectiveness of future drilling operations.
• Manage relationships with contractors and suppliers, ensuring the highest standards of performance and reliability.

The Successful Applicant:

• Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Petroleum Engineering, with additional certifications in drilling engineering highly regarded.
• Demonstrates significant experience in drilling engineering, specifically within the gas exploration and production industry.
• Has a strong track record of successfully planning and executing drilling operations, with a focus on safety and environmental sustainability.
• Exhibits excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
• Is a strong communicator, capable of working effectively with cross-functional teams and managing relationships with external partners.
• Possesses a deep understanding of industry regulations and standards, with a commitment to upholding the highest levels of safety and environmental protection.
